Community Involvement

From founding the Women’s Association of Credit Union Leaders to chairing Kansas City’s Go Red for Women campaign, Lisa is a highly respected leader who serves on a number of prominent boards. She is a well-known supporter and contributor to a wide variety of charitable causes throughout the Kansas City community.


Kansas City Chiefs: Official Banking Partner

In April 2017, CommunityAmerica became the Official Banking Partner of the Kansas City Chiefs under Lisa’s leadership. This partnership demonstrates the commitment, pride and shared values that CommunityAmerica has for our hometown. CommunityAmerica is now a fixture at Arrowhead Stadium, building upon its introductory partnership in 2016. The partnership also includes exclusive naming rights to Chiefs banking products and a new series of Chiefs fan experiences throughout the community, including its branches.



City Year: Board of Directors

City Year is an education-focused nonprofit which provides mentoring and tutoring services (through the Ameri-Corp Program) to at-risk students in KCMO schools. As part of a press event last May, CommunityAmerica announced its adoption of Northeast Middle School, allowing City Year’s tutors to serve students there for three years.

Women’s Employment Network: 2017 Annual Luncheon Co-Chair

This luncheon is one of Kansas City’s most impactful events, celebrating the brave women who are working to achieve economic stability for themselves and their families through Women’s Employment Network (WEN). WEN provides career service, professional coaching and job search exploration for Kansas City women, helping them discover their own abilities and gain employment.

Derrick Johnson Defend the Dream Foundation- Board of Directors

As a champion for football, education and literacy, Lisa is a proud board member for Chiefs linebacker, Derrick Johnson’s, Foundation. As part of her role, CommunityAmerica has sponsored six reading dens, called “DJ’s Dens” at local elementary schools.


Go Red for Women: 2016 Campaign Chair

Lisa’s work campaigning for KC’s 2016 “Go Red for Women” campaign raised a record-breaking $1 million for heart research. This is the highest amount ever raised in the local organization’s history.
